These e-mails appear to come from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and they ask for you to verify account information for insurance purposes. These e-mails are part of a large scam to acquire confidential account information, and no official from the FDIC will ask you for that information. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION!

If you do receive the scam e-mail detailed above, please let the FDIC know at alert@fdic.com. If you have given out your information to this or any other unreliable source, please contact your local banking center as soon as possible.
